Kiss Me

2015 | Exhibition and Auction | Magis & Homeless

CREATIVE CONCEPT

Artist: UUendy Lau

Materials: Artificial grass, Plastic, Wire, and Felt

The artwork Kiss Me was designed to enhance the interaction between the audience and the Magis Puppy. A mini-installation was created and set up inside the hollow space of the Puppy. When visitors walk closer, they will discover the hint with curiosity. When they squat and try to take a closer look at the installation inside, it resembles us kissing and cuddling the Puppy. This reminds us to show our deepest love to our pets as a lifelong partner and to understand what the pets want and need. All they want is to be loved and accompanied.

To love. To listen. To hug. To kiss. And to CARE.

INSPIRATION

It was inspired by how we interact with our puppy (or pets).

How often do we look at them?

When was our last time we talked and cuddle them?

CAMPAIGN

Every year in Hong Kong, there are more than 10,000 abandoned dogs and puppies officially destroyed, with a further unknown number die from disease or starvation. Owning a dog definitely is not for a moment of entertainment, it requires a commitment that needs to last for a lifetime. In December 2015, MAGIS and NPV (Non-Profit Making Veterinary Services Society) collaborated a dog charity event with the symbolic meaning of “Tie The Knot” – a lasting unity as slogan, so to encourage human to tie the knot and promise their dogs with an ever-lasting relationship.
